Pur water filters are an easy way to ensure that you're getting cleaner,
product for your tap. Below, we've listed some other methods, both short term and long, that
you may want to implement to improve the quality of what you drink.
- Flush your pipes. If
it hasn't been used in the last six hours, run the cold tap until it's at
its coldest. The longer it has been sitting in your home's pipes, the more lead it may
contain.
- Use
the cold tap for
consumption. When drinking, cooking or making baby formula, use only
the cold tap. The hot is likely to contain higher levels of lead.
- Have your
source tested. A
list of laboratories certified by your state or the EPA should be available from your
local or state public health department.
- Get involved. Find out
what's coming from your tap and what the effects of it are on
you and your family.
- Filtering.
Try one of our systems to get clean h20 at pennies per gallon.
Filtering at the tap, or use filtered pitchers or dispensers.
Give your family the best that they deserve. Pitchers and
Dispensers can be kept in the refrigerator for coldwater
drinkers or the filtered product can be used to fill ice trays
for clean ice cubes. Faucet mount
and counter top units are great for apartments, rentals or
places where getting to the plumbing is a problem. Replacement
cartridges are economical and easy to obtain. Have the delivered

- Since Pur
was introduced in 1986, we have been a leader in tackling some
of the world's most difficult problems with source waters. Our
invention of the world's first, and still only, hand-operated
desalinators has allowed users to instantly turn seawater into
fresh. The ingenuity and reliability of our technology has met
the rigorous demands of the U.S's and NATO's navies and air
forces, and today our desalinators are standard equipment on
life rafts worldwide.
Then in 1990, after much hard work and
research, we introduced portable h2o purifiers for backpackers.
This new line of outdoor purifiers made it possible to drink
microbiologically safe waters anywhere in the world. This was
great news for travelers, but as we soon found out, there were
still problems to be solved in our own backyard. In 1993, after
the disastrous outbreak of cryptosporidium in Milwaukee, we
began developing high-performance filtration systems that could
produce cleaner, healthier, better-tasting h2o for homes. Think
Pur filters.
